What should I see and do as a tourist with one week in Singapore?
Contrary to popular beliefs, although Singapore is small, we actually have a lot of places to visit and many things to do.
Depending on your budget and interests, you might want to consider the following:
1. Shopping
Orchard Road (pretty much stretching from Orchard station to Dhoby Ghaut station)
Raffles City, Suntec City, Marina Square, Millenia Walk (Cityhall station, Promenade station, Esplanade station)
Bugis Junction and the street shops
Mustafa Centre (in Little India 24 hours with some good bargains)
2. Touristy places
Sentosa
Universal Studio (in Sentosa)
Resorts World Singapore
Marina Bay Sands and neighboring places
Singapore Zoo, River Safari, Night Safari
Gardens By The Bay (biomes domes within)
Mandai Wildlife Reserve - Bird Paradise
3. Clubs and Pubs
Clarke Quay
Boat Quay
Zouk
4. Other Interesting places
Lau Pa Sat 18 Raffles Quay, Singapore 048582
Tiong Bahru, there is a street with many cafes and nice restaurants
Geylang (Red-light district) but there are some of the best eateries around
Hort Park
East Coast Park
Sim Lim Square. 1 Rochor Canal Road, Singapore 188504. Tech bargains.
5. Must try food (personal favorites)
Durian (beware of the smell and some dishonest seller may scam tourists)
Crabs (Chilli, Pepper, Salted eggs, Butter etc)
Hawker food (cheap and nice - look out for stalls with long queues and with articles shown on the signboard or front)
Dim Sum (personally Paradise Dynasty, Sichuan Dou Hua, Tim Ho Wan, and Royal China)
Ding Tai Feng, Imperial Kitchen
Varieties of international cuisines (Western, Italian, Japanese, Korean, you name it!)
